Beautiful One Year Old | Flower Child

Our first set of a 3 series session is being shared today.  Coming Soon: Urban Chic and Cupcake Cake Smash!  All for a very special niece of mine 🙂

My SIL Katie drove her sweet daughter 5 hours to see us and to capture a couple of 1 year old pictures.  Turns out that we have over 80 photos we love and that’s after several culls!!  I won’t share all 80 of our favs but I will share a taste of the fun we had.  First, I need to say thank you to Katie and Dean Colony, they shared their beautiful flower garden with us so we could get some sweet flower child images. We also want to thank Scratch Cupcakes at the Iowa River Landing, they let us take the photos in house, offered up one of their pedestal cake stands and then cleaned up our mess {their photos will be in post 3 so stay tuned!}.  In this business it is always a collaboration–you may ask friends, businesses, family and complete strangers for help and they will often say yes!  Public thank yous and shout outs, donations to their business or a charity they support, a complimentary photo shoot or even a bag of fresh roasted coffee can be a simple gesture to show them your gratitude.  Don’t be afraid to ask!

ok… on to cuteness

Our little model started off wearing a stylish ivory eyelet romper paired with a deep rose hued flower headband, the only added prop was a vintage crate so she could stand amongst the pretty wild flowers.  Keeping it simple truly allows your subject to shine and keeps them the center of attention.
